DesignMyRoom_LogoSome times it isn’t easy to decorate a room. Many people try to imagine how a room may look with a particular style or color, or even resort to sketching the room. Today we are going to take a look at DesignMyRoom, a web site which aids its users in home decorations.

designmyroom_screenshot6.pngDesignMyRoom.com takes a unique approach to home deco by using a virtual room where users can add appliances, paint the walls, apply flooring, and much more within a purely drag and drop environment. Of course, AJAX is being used to accomplish this.

designmyroom_screenshot1.pngThe user is given a wide variety of room types (kitchens, bed rooms, living/dinning rooms, and basements) to choose from. Then it is up to the user decorates the room with the goal of creating a look that is pleasing. Items that are provided range from kitchen appliances to bed rooms. Of course, all the items provided are real items that can be bough in the store. As the user decorates the room, a list of all the items used are stored, when the list is then viewed, the user can see the item, manufacturer, and price.

designmyroom_screenshot2.pngRegistration isn’t needed for testing out the service, but if you like your creation and would like to save it, registration will be needed. Same applies if you would like to share your creation.
