Have a Great Idea? Spigit!

Spigit.comLets face it, we all have had a great idea that others thought stank or ideas that really did stink but everyone else thought was great. How do you weed out bad ideas from the good? How do you test your ideas before putting it into action? This is where Spigit comes to the rescue with its concept showcasing platform.

With Spigit, users or companies can showcase their ideas to the general spigit community to, “obtain feedback-contributions-ratings from employees, partners and customers.” [1] In a simplified view of the service, users have the ability to submit ideas to spigit. Ideas are then worked upon and shaped to maximise its success. Questions such as, Is there other services similar to mine, How am I different from other similar ideas, Which type of user base will my service or idea attract, How will my service or idea do against current competition, and many more questions are taken into consideration. Users then probe at the idea, ask questions, and vote. Spigit has three phases where the project (the idea or service) must traverse.

  • Incubation
    • User submits the idea to the community
  • Validation
    • The idea is proved and expanded
  • Emergence
    • Once the idea completes the first two phases and it is rated among the top 10% ideas at Spigit, it enters into a simulated stock exchange

Spigit doesn’t only provide a method to test and validate ideas, but also a method to gain user credence and create buzz. Further more, Spigit increases the chance of finding investors early on.

So do you have a great idea? Head on over to Spigit.com and see it flourish.

To better grasp the idea behind Spigit.com, I have included a video of the Spigit co-founders speaking about the start-up at the AlwaysOn Stanford Summit.
