lala.com

I just received my first CD that I ordered at lala.com, Gun N’ Roses, G N R Lies. When I received the CD I expected to received a old, scratched, and heavily used CD, instead I received a almost brand new music CD for a little over a buck.

I will quickly explain what lala.com is all about for those of you that still have not heard about this great service. lala.com is a fairly unknown service that took the idea of music swapping and turned it on its head. What lala.com allows you to do is to ship perfectly legal music CDs to other lala.com members. That’s all, doesn’t that sound simple? But wait, there is more.

lala.com charges one dollar and postage. In the end, you only pay about $1.40 for a music CD. When you receive your newly purchased CD, you report back to lala.com about the CD’s condition and legitimacy. If the music CD you receive does not work or is a copy, you are not charged and disciplinary action is taken against the sender. Once you report that the CD has arrived in good conditions, you are charged the fee mentioned above and the CD is yours. You do not have to return it or send it to someone else, the music CD is yours to keep.

As of this writing, lala.com registration is closed to the general public the same way that gmail’s registration was closed to general public. Currently, you must be invited by lala.com or a member to be able to sign up. If you can not wait to be invited or for lala.com to open registration to the public, then follow the links below.

Exclusively here at Rumboard, you can skip the lines and register early.

If you try out the service, please leave me a comment of your experience.
